I am very happy to announce the launch of the all new, Advanced Custom Fields blog. This space will now act as the primary information center for news, upcoming versions and release notes, which until now has been somewhat of a difficulty to find.
So, speaking of news, let’s take a look at what you can expect to see shortly on the ACF radar:
Then next version soon to be released, will focus on improving many small issues with the current version, this includes:
The next big version will be 4.2.0 and will bring in some very exiting new features! The main of which is will be 100% integration between custom fields and attachments! The new WP uploader will be completely connected with ACF and adding custom fields to images will never have looked so good!
In doing so, the requirements for ACF will be bumped up to WP 3.5, ruling out support for the ‘old’ uploader. This is a necessary sacrifice which I believe will benefit ACF greatly by reducing bloated and redundant code and streamlining the JS
In other news, I am currently looking for developers, designers, enthusiasts and even end users of ACF to help out on the support forum and upcoming knowledge base section. If you would like to help out, I would be more than happy to chat about ideas, you can email me at [email protected]
That’s it for now, thanks again for all your support.
